eddie, jake, and bells at it again

Some say the world will end in fire,
some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire,
I hole with those who favor fire.
But if I had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
is also great,
and would suffice.
 - Robert Frost

If you recognize this quote, then you are one of two people

1.) a cultured poet who loves delving into and disecting poems for enjoyment
OR...
2.) a twilight fan who recently saw eclipse!

my guess is you are the first, because who doesn't love them some good robert frost? and you've probably never heard of twilight, it's kind of out of the public eye and not many have read them, it's pretty much about vampires and werewolfs - more like a weak imitation of buffy the vampire slayer in my opinion...

haha JUST KIDDING! we all know about this famous new craze that has captured the hearts of every girl and even some boys. You either love it, or love to hate it, but either way i'm sure you all have your teams (edward? jacob?) and you're going to check out the latest release, i know I did! Here are some thoughts I had about the movie, and I thought it fitting to write them in twilight colours:
  • that field at the beginning and end of the movie was soo pretty! man, would i love to frolic in that place and have a picnic.
  • kristen stewart (bella) cleans up well!
  • best line ever - [background: jacob kisses bella, she gets mad, and when they get to her place her dad charlie asks what happened]
    • jacob: ...i kissed bella....and she broke her hand.....punching my face. PRICELESS! (you had to be there..)
  • i found it hilarious how jacob and edward fought for bella, ESPECIALLY the scene in the tent when sly little jakey has to "keep bella warm" by cuddling with her in the sleeping bag while cold edward is glaring from the corner. what a laugh.
  • when you decide to give up your soul and become a vampire for a guy, and you agree to marry him, it's not the smartest idea to make out with his enemy right in front of him. maybe it's just me.
  • i swear dakota fanning was still 5, when did she get all grown up?
  • american eagle must have paid a fortune to get the characters all decked out in ae wear
and finally
  • does bella need edward? or would she be better with jacob? uhm, i'm thinking she needs jesus. sorry boys.
So all in all, I was pleasantly surprised with eclipse and would give it 4 stars! Wow, I should become a professional movie critic - nawwt.

what did you guys think of the movie ? :)

  1. Okay, I'll be completely honest. There was a time when I was a Twi-hard and then I re-read it about 1500 times and then discovered how little sense it made. And then I got angry and wanted to punch them all to pieces. Especially Breaking Dawn when she had the KID. NO. JUST NO.

But I have to admit: I DO love American Eagle.

And I read that last blog: you are very welcome; it's only the truth :)

  2. haha don't be ashamed, i used to be a twilight finatic too! (before i knew any better and got sucked into it by my friends). the books themself aren't actually that bad, but i'm sure everyone would agree that the whole craze just ruins it. and yeah, that kid thing was weird, but it was weirder how jake imprinted on bella's daughter in my opinion lol

and yes, american eagle is pretty sweet!

    thanks for your thoughts! :)

  3. I enjoyed the movie (books were better) but the best was watching and listening to all the pre-teen girls sigh every time Jacob took off his shirt (and the mothers whispering, "Stop that!"). I can't wait to see how they handle the whole baby thing on the big screen. Doesn't sound like pre-teen material to me...

Great blog Megan! I'll have to include you in my presentation to my staff on the "Scary World of Web 2.0" or "How to NOT Get Caught Being An Old Fogey". LOL
