madness at midnight

Bustling crowds. Live performers. Tons of food. Sale racks everywhere. Me and my fam strutting down the blocked off streets where this whole shebang is taking place, ice cream in hand (and not just any ice cream, I went all out with my chocolate dipped waffle cone, oh yeah). This is midnight MADNESS everybody, minus the midnight with an extra scoop of madness.

My little bubble of a town, Oakville, hosts a lakeshore downtown festival annually and usually I’m expecting it to be filled with a “more mature” audience – but tonight it was definitely youthful and fun, I must have seen over 20 people I know! The bands were awesome, from rock to reggae, from pop to techno, there was a little sumthin sumthin for everybody, know what i’m sayin?

The best part was that at the end, a booth was teaching people how to salsa, and after much persuasion, my (how should I put this..) “less-experienced” dad joined mom on the dance floor – it was one of those precious parent moments. All in all, I had a marvellous time – who knew family bonding could be so enjoyable?

toodles,

meg.
